This was one of the first of the Airfix model aircraft kits and dated from the early 1960's. With its wooden construction, their phantom riveter of that era didn't get his hands on this one! The fit of the parts was excellent, no filler at all was needed. It really is quite a decent kit but of course there is no cockpit detail at all with a kit of this age. Looking at the model as I write, I see that in 1975, my wheel wells were still being painted matt black, signifying a detail-less, dark hole. Zinc Chromate came a little later! The cockpit canopy was a gem.
