The sort of early Airfix kit where you could look into the cockpit and see daylight through the wheel wells. I fixed this with plasticard but the idea of spraying with a gloss finish before applying decals, to avoid 'silvering' of the carrier film, and then spraying a mat finish was yet to filter down to me. Shame. My first attempt at a mottled camouflage with airbrush through a hole in a piece of card held a few millimeters away from the target surface. I was chuffed with the result. It looked just like the photograph of the real thing.
