Subject: Lockheed P-38J Lightning

Constructed in 1976.

This was my first attempt at airbrushing. It actually looks quite good in the display cabinet but digital cameras are not very flattering - my wife would, without good reason, agree with this! The engine cooling radiator housings are moulded as part of the booms and had no internal detail at all - out with the Plasticard! Raised panel lines are lost when rubbing down the filler which is needed with most early Airfix kits and look at the size of those rivets! It was fun and brings back fond memories.
