The kit was released in, I believe, the early 1970's. This explains the mass of rivets which decorated the surface. As manufacturers were starting to move on to raised panel lines, Airfix perhaps felt a little unsure and the rivet size was modest compared to their worst offerings. I sanded mine down until they were just visible. Gone, thank goodness, were the separate control surfaces which graced their kits of the 60's. Cockpit detail was rather lacking - not even an instrument panel, but the fit of the parts was excellent as were the decals. I would buy another one today. Excellent value for money!
